“Addiction Incorporated,” with Charles Evans Jr. directing a PG-13 documentary on scientist Victor DeNoble, who became the first whistle-blower to reveal the tobacco industry’s efforts to manufacture “a maximally addictive” product. Once DeNoble succeeded in proving the danger of nicotine, his position was terminated, his lab was closed, and his research was kept from the public.
